The small town itself is characterized by fishing and you will find cafes and restaurants serving local products around Porto Moniz. The highlight of the day will of course be a visit to the wonderful natural lava pools that formed between the cliffs and the Atlantic ocean on the black volcanic rock.

Take a cable car trip to Monte and the Palace Gardens and embark on an exciting downhill journey on a traditional wicker basket sledge.
