About the tour
Mount Etna
Discover Sicily's largest mountain and Europe's largest active volcano on a guided tour taking you to the best viewpoints and the locations of the latest eruptions. Discover bizarre rock formations, explore caves and lava tubes and enjoy the fantastic views over Eastern Sicily as you hike across the smoking slopes of Mount Etna. Despite its untamable powers, the slopes around Mount Etna have always been the gardens of Sicily with many agricultural products and wine being cultivated around the mountain. Visit a local winery to taste some of the delicious and strong wines from the area.
Syracuse and the Necropolis of Pantalica
Syracuse is one of the oldest towns in Sicily and it's historic significance shows in the rich cultural and architectural heritage reflecting Greek and Roman influences. Explore the old town on the island of Ortigia in your own time and venture around the ancient ruins of the Greek and Roman amphitheatres. Outside Syracuse, you will find the impressive UNESCO listed Necropolis of Pantalica, where thousands of ancient tombs have been carved into the rock.
Further, you will be treated to local antipesto and wine on a sunset cruise taking you along the beautiful rugged coastline of Syracuse
The Noto Valley
To round up your tour along Sicily's UNESCO heritage, this Sicily tour takes you to the historic valley of Noto. Large parts and many towns of the area had been destroyed in a massive earthquake in 1693, but have been rebuild shortly after in a unique Sicilian Baroque style with a dramatic, ebullient architecture and using golden tufa stone. Base yourself in the town of Ragusa or Modica and explore the beautiful and picturesque neighbouring villages and cities from here.
