OPEN BORDERS - WHERE AND HOW TO TRAVEL DURING THE COVID19 PANDEMIC?

After weeks of lock-down, European destinations have slowly started to open their countries up again and since mid June, many countries have opened the borders again for visitors from other countries.

Caution and protocol will shape traveling for now to help visitors and hosts alike to stay safe. From social distancing rules implemented in hotels, airports, restaurants or bars, smaller groups on buses and tours to the use of hand sanitizers, it will be a very changed reality for anybody traveling this summer.

As the situation in every country is different and diverse approaches have been taken how to manage the crisis and how to open up the country after, it can be confusing for people to fully grasp and understand the guidelines and protocols implemented by each country. For example, while Sicily is allowing EU citizens and nationals of Schengen member states to arrive into Sicily without having to quarantine or being tested, Iceland and Portugal impose stricter rules with either asking tourists to prove that they have been tested negative, agree to be tested upon arrival or voluntarily quarantine for 14 days. Norway's borders will remain close until August. We have put together a list of very useful links to keep you up-to-date on regulations applying to each of our destinations, which you can access here.

Before making your travel arrangements, please also keep in mind that every source country imposes travel rules of their own, which might effect your travel plans to certain destinations. We strongly recommend to check any travel restrictions with the foreign office of your country before committing to travel.

As the situation remains uncertain and hard to predict at the minute, The Small Adventure Company has also put a book with confidence policy in place. So should the situation in your destination change and make it impossible for you to travel, we offer you the flexibility to reschedule your arrangement with us for a later date free of charge for any bookings made until the end of 2020. Your safety and the safety of our staff and partners is our highest priority, so should you feel unwell shortly before you travel, we will offer you the same freedom to reschedule to a later date for the same period of time. Terms & Conditions apply.
