DAY 1 - PORTO (D)
Welcome to Porto. Take your time to stroll through the historic quarter of Ribeira or visit one of the port wine cellars along the banks of the Douro river. Enjoy a guided food and wine tour in later afternoon, taking you to discover some of the real Porto and to taste authentic Portuguese gastronomy. Overnight in Porto.
DAY 2 - WINES OF THE DOURO VALLEY (B, L)
Today will take you into the beautiful Douro valley, famous for it's vineyards grown on the romantic hills of the river banks. Take in the beautiful scenery driving along the river to Pinhao, where you will learn more about the Douro wines on a visit and tasting at a local wine estate before enjoying a sumptuous traditional lunch. Enjoy a relaxing cruise on a traditional rabelo boat before returning to Porto in the evening. Overnight in Porto.
DAY 3 - OUTDOOR PARADISE AROUCA - COIMBRA (B, L)
The Arouca Geopark Southeast of Porto is UNESCO listed due to its rich and unique geological heritage and is surrounded by mountain ranges and crossed by several rivers. There are so many different ways to discover the beautiful nature and the small villages, ranging from kayaking, canyoning or canoeing to hiking and cycling. Continue to Coimbra, home to Portugal's oldest and most prestigious universities, where you will have the rest of the day free to stroll through the medieval lanes and soak up the lively atmosphere. Overnight in Coimbra.
DAY 4 - THE SCHIST VILLAGES OF SERRA DA LOUSA - TOMAR (B, L)
Today you will escape to the quiet Serra da Lousa, a scenic region in central Portugal filled with old castles, authentic villages and many hiking trails in lush and green nature. Travel back in time as you hike around the valley on old narrow forest paths and visit the scenic Schist villages of Talasnal and Casal Novo. Continue to the Templar city of Tomar, where you will enjoy the evening in the historic center. Overnight in Tomar.
DAY 5 - THE TEMPLAR's CASTLE - ALENTEJO KAYAKING (B, L)
You will have some time in Tomar in the morning to explore the traditional streets and to visit the breath-taking Convento de Cristo, an impressive castle overlooking the town, which was originally founded by the Templar knights. Travel on to the Eastern Alentejo region around Evora and enjoy a refreshing kayak tour on a a quiet river in the beautiful and pristine ountryside. Overnight in Evora.
DAY 6 - EVORA BY FOOT AND BIKE (B)
The historic town of Evora is listed as UNESCO heritage and holds the highest number of national monuments in Portugal. Walk along the 16. century silver water aqueduct into the beautiful Alentejo countryside and learn about history, traditions and the region before returning to Evora by bike in the afternoon on a traffic free green lane, where you will explore Evora's unique historic centre. Overnight in Evora.
DAY 7 - CHARMING MONSARAZ - ALENTEJO WINES (B, D)
The day starts with a visit to Monsaraz, a charming village with white-washed houses and a medieval castle, offering panoramic views over the impressive Alqueva dam and the surrounding area. In the afternoon, check-in at an exclusive wine estate, where you will enjoy a tour through the winery followed by a tasting and delicious tasting menu before relaxing and settling for the night. Overnight in the Alentejo countryside.
DAY 8 - A DAY AT A COUNTRYSIDE WINERY (B, L, D)
A thrilling mountain bike tour through the estate's vineyards awaits you after breakfast, where you will discover the beautiful countryside and learn more about the estate and it's traditions. After enjoying a gourmet picnic for lunch, you will retreat to the kitchen for a traditional cooking experience and learn more about Alentejo's flavours and aromas. You will have some time to relax at the estate in the afternoon before enjoying a gourmet dinner in the evening. Overnight in the Alentejo countryside.
DAY 9 - HISTORIC SAO DOMINGO MINES - MEDIEVAL MERTOLA (B, L)
The ancient Sao Domingo mines were once one of the largest copper mines in Europe before they were finally abandoned in the 1960's. Travel back in time and learn more about the mining history while venturing among the post-apocalyptic mining ruins and hiking around the pristine countryside taking you to the Monte do Guizo, through gorgeous fields of grain and flowers and along the banks of the Tapada Grande reservoir. Visit the fortified medieval village of Mertola in the heart of the Vale do Guadiana Nature Park before heading to the Southern Coast. Overnight in Tavira.
DAY 10 - RELAX IN TAVIRA (B)
With its mix of traditional Portuguese heritage and Moorish roots, Tavira is one of the most charming towns on the Algarve. Spend the day exploring the cobbled streets of the town centre, the waterways and mudflats of the Parque Natural da Ria Farmosa or simply just relax at the beautiful sandy beaches on the Ilha de Tavira. Overnight in Tavira.
DAY 12 - LAGOS - KAYAKING AROUND THE PONTA DA PIEDADE (B)
Spend the morning strolling through the lively streets of the walled town of Lagos, characterized by small shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. After lunch, a combined boat and kayaking tour will take you around the beautiful Ponta da Piedade cliffs to discover caves, beaches and beautiful grottoes formed by erosion of millions of years. Overnight in the Western Algarve.
DAY 11 - FARO FOOD TOUR - SEVEN HANGING VALLEYS WALKING TRAIL (B, L)
Faro is the biggest city on the Algarve and this morning you will have the opportunity to discover Faro's origin and history on a guided tour through the old city. Learn about the traditions, legends and lifestyle while tasting the local delicacies and traditional flavours. In the afternoon, you will follow one of the most beautiful coastal walking trails on the Algarve taking you from Praia da Marinha to Praia de Vale Centeanes. You will discover stunning geology, coves and enjoy fantastic views over the turquoise Atlantic ocean and the warm coloured cliffs. Overnight in the Western Algarve.
DAY 14 - ARRABIDA NATURE PARK - DOLPHIN WATCHING (B, L)
You will head up North to the Setubal peninsula, home to the beautiful Serra da Arrabida Nature Park. Venture through vineyards and cork forests and enjoy fantastic views over the beautiful bay while learning about the history and the Moorish heritage of the region. An eco boat tour will take you out to the ocean to spot the local bottlenose dolphin population in their natural habitat. Overnight in Lisbon.
DAY 13 - WALKING ON THE COSTA VINCENTINA (B)
The Costa Vincentina is known as one of the most authentic and pristine coastal sections in Europe and is home to the Rota Vincentina walking and cycling network. Follow a section along the Fishermen's Trail today, taking you through small fishing villages, along beautiful sandy beaches and a rugged cliffs offering you breath-taking views over the open Atlantic ocean and the dramatic coastline. Overnight on the Costa Vincentina.
DAY 15 - DISCOVER LISBON (B, D)
You will have the day to discover the capital of Portugal with it's rich historic, traditional and gastronomic heritage. A cycling tour will take you through the traditional Alfama and Bairro Alto quarters and along the Tagus river to the impressive Belem tower and the Jeronimus Monastery. Spend the afternoon at leisure venturing through the historic lanes in the centre or take in the panoramic views from the Sao Jorge Castle overlooking Lisbon and the Tagus. Enjoy a traditional Fado performance over a delicious meal in the evening. Overnight in Lisbon.

DAY 16 - ROYAL SINTRA AND MAFRA (B, L)
The former royal residence of UNESCO listed Sintra sits in the heart of the Sintra-Cascais Nature Park, covered by lush green forests and surrounded by a beautiful dramatic coastline. The castles, palaces and stately manor houses in the fairytale-like town will take you back in time. Continue to Mafra, home to the UNESCO listed Palacio Nacional, Portugal's most extravagant palace with 1,200 rooms, Overnight in Lisbon.
