DAY 1 - WELCOME TO PORTUGAL
After arriving to Lisbon, you will have the rest of the day free to go on a first discovery tour in the Portuguese capital. Explore the historic quarters Alfama and Bairro Alto, enjoy the stunning view over Lisbon and the sea from the Sao Jorge Castle and take a ride on the legendary Tram 28. Overnight in Lisbon.
DAY 2 - LISBON CYCLING TOUR (B)
Today you will discover Lisbon on a cycling tour, taking you from Parque Eduardo VII all the way down to the iconic Torre de Belem on the Tagus river, and you will visit all the major historic areas en route. Explore some secret spots and enjoy the cosmopolitan and vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere all the way. You will have the afternoon free to stroll through the beautiful Jardim de Estrela Park or to visit the Oceanario, Europe's largest Aquarium, which is located next to the Lisbon cable car. Overnight in Lisbon.
DAY 3 - OCEAN KAYAKING IN ARRABIDA NATURAL PARK (B)
The Arrabida National Parl on the Setubal peninsula South of Lisbon is one of Portugal's natural jewels with steep limestone cliffs, deserted beaches and breath-taking views. Soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere and learn more about the rich Moorish history of Setubal on a sea kayaking tour while paddling along the cliffs discovering hidden caves and lagoons. Overnight in Liisbon.
DAY 4 - SINTRA - NAZARE (B)
Leave Lisbon after breakfast and make your way to Sintra, the fairytale-like town filled with palaces, parks and estates, which was once the residence of Portuguese royalty. Here you can chose to visit the ostentatious Pena Palace overlooking the town, the ruins of the mighty Moors Castle or the dreamlike romantic palace Quinta da Regaleira with its incomparable park filled with tunnels and grottoes. Stroll through the vivid medieval alleys before continuing through the national park and stop in the beautiful village of Obidos before continuing to Nazare. Overnight in Nazare.
DAY 5 - NAZARE (B)
The seaside town of Nazare boasts a proud fishing tradition dating back centuries and is particularly famous for it's spectacular waves, which can be more than 30 metres high and therefore make Nazare one of the best spots for surfing in the world. Enjoy the day at the sea, relax at the large golden beach, explore the area around the massive underwater canyon on a tour or try some fun water activities like surfing or fly-boating! Overnight in Nazare.
DAY 6 - NATURAL PARK SERRAS DE AIRE E CANDEEIROS - COIMBRA - PORTUGAL DOS PEQUENITOS (B)
On your way to Coimbra, you will pass by the natural park Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, known for its grottoes and ravines in the chalk massif, which have been formed by water over time. You can admire the bizarre rock formations by visiting one of the grottoes or you can visit the rock salt mines. You will also find the world's largest collection of sauropod dinosaur footprints in this area, dating back to 175 million years ago. Continue to Coimbra, Portugal's medieval capital and home to the country's oldest and most prestigious university. You will visit the wonderful Portugal dos Pequenitos, an educational playground, where the whole family can learn more about Portugal's history while climbing around miniature reproductions of Portugal's architectural heritage. Stroll through the old cobbled lanes and along the stone walls in the evening to soak up the lively and young atmosphere in the town. Overnight in Coimbra.
DAY 7 - CANYONING - AROUCA GEOPARK - PORTO (B)
The Arouca Geopark Southeast of Porto is characterized by mountains, rivers and breath-taking views. Due to it's rich geological and historical heritage, the park is classified as a UNESCO Geopark and the options to explore nature seem unlimited. An exciting canyoning adventure is awaiting you here, where you will follow a mountain river while jumping in and out of the water, sliding down cascades and swimming in crystal-clear lagoons. A refreshing adventure in nature for the whole family. You can explore more of the Geopark on one of the many walking trails taking you to little traditional villages, steep slopes and deep valleys. Continue to Porto and overnight in Porto.
DAY 8 - PORTO (B)
Porto is world famous for its Portwine production, it's stately bridges and the medieval Ribeira district with narrow cobbled streets, historic merchants houses and cafes. A private family tour will take you to around the beautiful city to discover some its highlights and some hidden gems before taking a cruise on the Douro river to take in the views on the riverbanks and the impressive bridges crossing the river. In the afternoon, you will learn everything about traditional Portuguese sweets and the iconic Pastel de Nata pastries in a Traditional Sweets cooking class for the whole family! Overnight in Porto.
