The Sognefjord is known as the king among the fjords on the Western coast of Norway. The area North of Bergen contains some of the wildest and most beautiful scenery of Norway. With it's dramatic fjords and mountains, a rich cultural heritage and plenty of outdoor activities to choose from, the Sognefjord area is a perfect destination for an exciting active break with the family or friends.
DAY 1 - WELCOME TO FLAM
Arrive to Flam and check-in. You have the rest of the day to enjoy the lovely village and stroll around the harbor. Overnight in Flam.
DAY 2 – KAYAKING IN THE NAEROYFJORD - UNDREDAL (B)
You will transfer to Gudvangen in the morning from where you will embark on a kayaking adventure in the Naeroyfjord. Surrounded by towering mountains, the narrow UNESCO World heritage listed fjord is known to be one of the most dramatic fjords in Norway wand you will be able to take in its full beauty from the waters. Visit the cosy village of Undredal in the afternoon, famous for its white and brown goats cheeses and the small Stave church dating from 1147. Overnight in Flam.
DAY 3 - CYCLING THE NAVVIES ROAD - LOCAL BEER TASTING (B, D)
The Navvies Road (Rallavegen) running over 80km all the way from the mountains down to Flam is known to be one of the most spectacular bike rides in the world. The road was once established as a construction road to build the Bergen railway and is today closed for traffic. You will transfer to Myrdal in the morning to follow down the last 20km of the road, which will take you through stunning alpine scenery while descending about 865m to Flam. You will have time to relax in the afternoon before enjoying a beer tasting followed by a traditional dinner at the local beer brewing company. Overnight in Flam.
DAY 4 - STEGASTEIN - HIKING AROUND LAERDAL - SOGNDAL (B)
On your way to Fjaerland, you will follow along the shores of the beautiful Aurlandsfjord, where you can take in the stunning scenery from the impressive panoramic Stegastein viewpoint, a platform towering 650m above the fjord. Continue to the historic village of Laerdalsoyri with its unique wooden houses form the 16th and 17th century. Located at the end of the UNESCO listed Sognefjord, Laerdal offers fantastic hiking opportunities in dramatic mountain scenery with superb views over the fjord carved landscape. After your hike, you will take the ferry over the fjord and continue to the Sogndal area for overnight.
DAY 5 - BODY RAFTING - CIDER HUSET BALESTRAND (B, D)
A wild, wet and re-freshing adventure is waiting for you today as you will be taken to the Leirdola river South of the Jostedal National Park river, where you will go body rafting! Swim, climb, slide and jump off the cliffs into the cold waters running through a narrow canyon carving its way through the landscape. In the late afternoon, you will transfer to Balestrand, where you will learn about fruit growing and cider production at the Cider Huset before enjoying a tasting of the local ciders and a delicious dinner in the restaurant. Overnight in Sogndal.
DAY 6 - GLACIER HIKING (B, L)
The Tunsbergdal glacier is the longest arm of the mighty Jostedal glacier and is surrounded by rich, stunning nature. A RIB tour will take you over the Tunsdalvatet lake and you will walk alongside the powerful glacier into the National Park. You will be equipped with crampons, axes and ropes to explore the world of the blue ice. If you are lucky, your guide might even find a spot to enter the glacier. A truly exiting adventure that will leave you in awe of the wonders of nature. Overnight in Sogndal.
DAY 7 - DEPARTURE (B)
Transfer to the airport and departure.
