Explore Madeira's great outdoors and explore Madeira's rich cultural and culinary heritage on this 8 day tour

Madeira is the ideal place to combine outdoor adventures such as kayaking, canyoning and hiking with a relaxing holiday on beautiful beaches. Hardly anywhere else in a comparatively small space like this island in the Atlantic Ocean will you find such natural diversity. Lush forests, mountains over 1800m and a rugged coast in the north with sandy beaches in the south offer plenty of things to do. The capital Funchal in the south is the perfect base to start off your adventures all over the island. Short distances and innovative ways of transport make it easy to get around. There are the pedicabs taking you around Funchal, the cable car ride high above the capital towards Monte, the wicker sledge journey downhill in Monte, 4x4 jeep safaris through the island‘s nature reserves and boat trips to explore the coastline from the other side and watch the many sea creatures inhabiting the waters around the Madeira Archipelago.
Besides all the fun activities there is a lot to discover above and under ground. Madeira‘s volcanic formation history left its traces that can be seen today. Perfect examples are the three highest mountains of Madeira - Pico Ruivo (1,862 m), the Pico das Torres (1,851 m) and Pico do Arieiro (1,818 m). Plenty of stunning walks will lead you to places with amazing views, right through Madeira‘s unique vegetation. In the caves of São Vicente you can admire the grotto and underground pond as result of a volcanic eruption.
Nature, adventures, tranquility, fantastic food and a rich culture - Madeira is the place where you find it all!
